- GEDCOM: 224075- Samuel was a posthumous child and apparently the second Samuel born to this family, for the Braintree records give a Samuel Kingsly the sone of Sam Kingsly & Hanna his wiffe dyed 11th mo. 19. 1660. ================ ======================================================== This Samuel Kingsley was born three months after his father's death in 1662, and was the only child to survive any length of time. Several family members were killed in Indian raids in 1676 and 1706. He was a grandson of Stephen Kin(g)sley and is mentioned in his will. He bought land in Bridgewater, MA which once belonged to a Mr. Jeduthum Robbins. He moved to Easton, MA in 1701 and built his house in 1702. He was a selectman of Easton, MA. -FTM ================================================= ======================= Rosser does not give death place, only date; however Mayflower Deeds and Probates show his estate records on p. 199 with son Samuel as administrator, 12 Jul 1714, wherein it is noted under inventory that he died 17 Dec 1713. -Cook & Early New England ========================================= =============================== The date of marriage to Mary Washburn is not known, but it must have taken place before 10 Sep 1694, when Samuel Kin(g)sley and others, all of Bridgewater, sold "a Parcell of Land left unwilled by our Father & Father-in-law John Washburne Deceased". This deed and another dated April 1, 1700, in which "Samuel Kinsley & Mary his wife "with other "heires of John W ashburne of said Bridgwater" sold land which had been granted to said John Washburn, were printed in our Fifteenth volume. It is probable that the marriage of Samuel Kinsley and Mary Washburn was before 1693, as their "Eldest son" Samuel Kinsley was at least twenty-one years of age on July 13, 1714, when he was appointed administrator on his father's estate. No record of the births of the children of Samuel and Mary Kinsley has been found, but in the division of the father's estate, made on October 5, 1722, we find land set off as follows: To Samuel Kinsley Eldest Son To Benjemin Kinsley Second and youngest son To Hannah Hayward Eldest daughter To Sarah Hayward Second daughter To Mary Willis Third daughter To Susanna Kinsley Fourth daughter To Abigail Kinsley Fifth daughter To Bethiah Kinsley Sixth and youngest daughter The only record found of the date of death of Samuel Kinsley, the father, is in the "Inventory of the Estate of Samuel Kingsley, Mayflower Descendant, 15:251 and 252.
