Eva Irene Robinson, 94 of Coudersport passed away peacefully May 26, 2017 at Cole Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Born April 30, 1923 in Sunderlinville, PA to Frank and Viva Stiles Ruter, Eva grew up and lived her life in the Coudersport area.
She married Earlist “Early” Robinson and with him raised her family in Coudersport.
Eva was a lifelong and active member of the Coudersport Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, served on the Women’s Missionary Fellowship committee, and as a Deaconess. A vigorous woman, she worked various jobs on farms, in manufacturing and at the Alliance Church day care. Eva was very active, loved picking blackberries, working puzzles and listening to polkas, was an avid cook and baker who was well-known for her Christmas cookies and cinnamon rolls. Eva volunteered at her church’s food pantry, and at the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. Eva was well-known and loved in her community and was known as “Grandma Eva” by many. She was kind, compassionate and selfless in her extravagant love which she poured out on her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Eva is survived by two grandchildren:
- Tina Ling of Lebanon, and
- Tim Snyder of Coudersport;
1 great-grandson: Noah Ling of Lebanon;
2 sisters:
- Betty Spong of Coudersport and
- Jane Kniffen of Corning, NY;
and a very large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
- son Gary Robinson,
- daughter Carolyn Snyder,
- grandson Brian Robinson,
and 3 brothers:
- Frank,
- Ed and
- Chet Ruter.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 11am to 1pm Saturday June 3, at the Coudersport Christian and Missionary Alliance Church with a memorial service to follow. Bridal Shower Miss Caroline Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earlist Robinson, Coudersport, was honored at a bridal shower Friday night at the Colesburg Grange Hall. She will become the bride of Terry Snyder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Snyder, Saturday, May 7, in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
Approximately 35 guests attended and presented Miss Robinson with gifts which were placed on a table aniterea with a large paper bride. The Grange Hall was decorated for the occasion with pink amd white streamers and white wedding bells. A double wedding bell cake centered the refreshment table and the table of the bride-to-be held costumed bride and bridegroom dolls.
