Jeannette Buck just beyond the round barn, just before you get to Carl Erway's, there is a road that turns left. It is the Junction Road. I'm not sure of the distance, maybe half a mile up that road, the tracks crossed and to the left AGAIN-- a ways into what is not woods, sat the Newfield Junction.

Jeannette Buck We only had one Corvair. As Nate says, Ralph Nader messed it up--- killed off the car even though GM had fixed the problem. It was truly one of the best cars we ever had. Ours was yellow with a white top. Drove like a dream. Have never liked that Nader guy since. :)

Jeannette Buck Lord, yes, Linda! Mom ironed by the hour. I am so very very glad number one, that I had all boys and didn't have to worry about dresses, but that those darned puffy sleeved dresses are things of the past. I hated to iron and I still do.

Bobbi Palmer Both of my grandmothers insisted that I had school clothes, play clothes and "Sunday"/holiday clothes. I didn't have many clothes but there was clearly a purpose for what I did have. And yes, certain clothes were ALwAYS hung in a special closet and perfectly ironed. I still have an old iron that was Grandma Watkins with the thick black woven cord. Oh the memories, attending church with the Squire family etc.

Paula Pesock Gibson This round barn belonged to my husband's family until they sold it around 2000. It burned on May 3, 2002. It was such a horrible loss for all of us. Still makes me heartsick. I have many, many pictures of the barn, including one when it is burning down. Very sad.

Paula Pesock Gibson yes, the picture of it burning is very hurtful. I know we were all sick. Izzy was in Strong Memorial and we had to tell her while she was so ill. Awful, just awful. That barn meant so much to the Gibsons. I treasure the pictures I have including the Round Barn potato bags when Hoot's dad and grandpa sold potatoes.

Anne Acker I believe one of my ancestors owned the property at one time and he actually designed and built barns. We have often wondered if a Tucker built it. Do you know anything about that Jeannette?

Jeannette Buck I don't know who actually pounded the nails. The land was owned then by Will Grover, a Civil War vet and a native of Newfield, and he was the man who had it built. I can find the history on it if you would like.
