25th Anniversary Party for Robert Meikles Held Sunday
When Mr and Mrs Robert Meikle of Painted Post (Mrs Meikle is the former Phyllis Horn of Galeton) arrived at Cherry Springs Park for a family picnic Saturday, they were greeted by a crowd singing "Happy Anniversary."
The table was decorated with sweet peas, candles, a tree-tiered wedding cake topped with silver bells, and little baskets which had been used at their wedding breakfast 25 years ago.
The only flaw in a happy day was the absence of their daughter Miss Mildred Meikle, who had just returned to her home from the Rober Packer Hospital following surgery, though she knew of the surprise for her parents, some women can keep a secret.
The couple received many gifts and a sum of money.
