Mrs Don Stearns, for 18 months in failing health, died Sunday (March 13, 1960) while a patient on the Potter Coounty Memorial Hospital. She will be sadly missed not only by the large family but by her Crandall Hill neighbors and a world of friends..
Zeruah Amellia Harris was born March 19, 1901, at Coneville, a daughter of Ernest and Lottie Swift Harris. She was married on June 24 1923 in Coneville. She had resided in this area her entire life. For a time she taught elementary school, three years at Oswayo ande a number of years at Coneville..
Mrs Stearns was a graduate of Oswayo High School and Lock Haven Teachs College, class of 1920. Mrs Stearns was an active member and past president of the Coudersport Council of church Women, a member of the WCTU, a past member of the Hebron Twp. school board. She was active in the Potter County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. She belonged to the Hebron Grange. For years she gave private piano lessons and served as church organist for the First Hebron Seventh Day Baptist church for 15 years..
Surviving are her husband, six children, Mrs Richard (Reva) Bond, Elmira, N.Y., Mrs James H.(EllaMay) Campbell, Coudersport, Mrs Olvn (Maralee) Chaffer, Tonawanda, N.Y., Clayton H. Stearns, Seattle, Wash, David E Stearns, Faifax, Va, and Richard R. Stearns, Bolivar, N.Y.; three brothers, Neil Harris, Rixford, Earl Harris, Portville, N.Y. and Carl Harris, Oswayo; one sister, Mrs Beth Dittmer, Coneville and 11 grandchhildren..
Friends were received at the Grabe Fneral Home. A prayer service was conducted at 1:15 Tuesday followed by the funeral from the Hebron Seventh Day Baptist church. at 2:00 o'clock. The Rev Eugene Fatato and Rev Rex Zwiebel officiated. Burial was in the Hebron Cemetery..

Mrs. Lorena Snyder Passes Away Suddenly at Port Allegany Last Wednesday. Funeral Saturday. West Hebron, Aug. 16.
This community was greatly shocked to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Lorena Snyder, at the Port Allegany Hospital, last Wednesday. She leaves to mourn her death her husband, Charley Snyder, two little girls and step-daughter Mary; also infant daughter Charleen Doris and a host of relatives and friends. The body was taken to the home of Alva Thompson, where they also cared for the children. The funeral was held at two o'clock Saturday afternoon, at the Hebron Seventh Day Baptist church. Pastor Robert Wing officating. Interment was made in the Five Corner Cemtery.
Mr. and Mrs. Almerion Lyman and children, Lanson and Elwin Ingles, of Roulette, were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Howard and family. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Clark, of Los Angeles, were visiting his cousin, Arthur Mattison and family Tuesday.
Mrs. Maud Howard called on Mrs. Zeruah Stearns, Tuesday afternoon.
Mrs. Eva Swift and children and Mrs. Tillie Swift, of Coneville, called at Fred Snyders, Tuesday.
Milford Clark went to State College, last Wednesday, returning Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Merideth Reynolds and children, of Little Genesee and Fannie Burdick, of Filmore, called on Mr. and Mrs. Don Stearns and family and Mrs. Ella Stearns, Saturday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. George Dingman were Coudersport vsitors, Friday.
Monta Frilligan was a Millport visitor, Thursday evening.

March 12: Mr. and Mrs. Herman Allen of Harrison Valley and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Allen and daughter of Elkland visited Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Wilcox, Saturday. They brought Mr. Wilcox a birthday cake.
Chester and Durwood Weimer and sons of Farmers Valley were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Thompson, Monday.
Mrs. Earl Kenyon, Mrs. L. D. Pepperman, Mrs. Don Stearns and Mrs. Walter Metzger attended Pomona Grange at Odin, Wednesday afternoon.
In the evening Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Pepperman and daughter Nan, Mrs. Roy Thompson, Miss Lena Thompson Mr. and Mrs. Don Stearns and daughter Maralee, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Metzger attended Pomona Grange.
Miss Roberta Peet, a student at Mt. Vernon Academy, Ohio, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Peet.

Robert Brock of the U.S. Air Force has been transferred from Lackland Air Base to Shepard Field in Texas.
Robert Phillips, who has been employed in South Carolina, returned home last week.

John and Ray Peet were supper guests at their grandmother's, Mrs. Ella Wilcox, at Roulette Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cms of Coudersport were dinner guests Sunday at Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Clark's and son, Georje.
Mrs. Leta Burdick of this place and Mrs. Vesta Miller and Mrs. Merritt Miller and three children of Fishing Creek were shopping in Coudersport Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. James Sturdevant and two children of Port Allegany were guests at Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Burdick's Sunday.
Mrs. Lettie Green and Fern Mays of Alfred, N. Y., and Elton Green of Wellsville visited Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Matteson Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Matteson and Mrs. Thelma Metzger were business callers in Shinglehouse Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Pepperman called on their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lunn and son, Stevie, at Oswayo. Saturday. Stevvie has the measles and Mr. Lunn toncilitis. We hope they both get better soon.

Friday, Miss Maralee Stearns came home. Her school at Lero s villeville (? -jcw), Pa., is closed. She went to Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Olson's at Emporium Friday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Stearns went to Emporium Saturday altemoon to attend the wedding of their niece, Miss Linnea Olson, and Paul Smith, who were married in the Methodist Church.

Mrs Don Stearns, for 18 months in failing health, died Sunday (March 13, 1960) while a patient on the Potter Coounty Memorial Hospital. She will be sadly missed not only by the large family but by her Crandall Hill neighbors and a world of friends..
Zeruah Amellia Harris was born March 19, 1901, at Coneville, a daughter of Ernest and Lottie Swift Harris. She was married on June 24 1923 in Coneville. She had resided in this area her entire life. For a time she taught elementary school, three years at Oswayo ande a number of years at Coneville..
Mrs Stearns was a graduate of Oswayo High School and Lock Haven Teachs College, class of 1920. Mrs Stearns was an active member and past president of the Coudersport Council of church Women, a member of the WCTU, a past member of the Hebron Twp. school board. She was active in the Potter County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. She belonged to the Hebron Grange. For years she gave private piano lessons and served as church organist for the First Hebron Seventh Day Baptist church for 15 years..
Surviving are her husband, six children, Mrs Richard (Reva) Bond, Elmira, N.Y., Mrs James H.(EllaMay) Campbell, Coudersport, Mrs Olvn (Maralee) Chaffer, Tonawanda, N.Y., Clayton H. Stearns, Seattle, Wash, David E Stearns, Faifax, Va, and Richard R. Stearns, Bolivar, N.Y.; three brothers, Neil Harris, Rixford, Earl Harris, Portville, N.Y. and Carl Harris, Oswayo; one sister, Mrs Beth Dittmer, Coneville and 11 grandchhildren..

Mrs Don Stearns, for 18 months in failing health, died Sunday (March 13, 1960) while a patient on the Potter Coounty Memorial Hospital. She will be sadly missed not only by the large family but by her Crandall Hill neighbors and a world of friends..
Zeruah Amellia Harris was born March 19, 1901, at Coneville, a daughter of Ernest and Lottie Swift Harris. She was married on June 24 1923 in Coneville. She had resided in this area her entire life. For a time she taught elementary school, three years at Oswayo and a number of years at Coneville.
Mrs Stearns was a graduate of Oswayo High School and Lock Haven Teachs College, class of 1920. Mrs Stearns was an active member and past president of the Coudersport Council of church Women, a member of the WCTU, a past member of the Hebron Twp. school board. She was active in the Potter County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. She belonged to the Hebron Grange. For years she gave private piano lessons and served as church organist for the First Hebron Seventh Day Baptist church for 15 years..
Surviving are her husband, six children, Mrs Richard (Reva) Bond, Elmira, N.Y., Mrs James H.(EllaMay) Campbell, Coudersport, Mrs Olvn (Maralee) Chaffer, Tonawanda, N.Y., Clayton H. Stearns, Seattle, Wash, David E Stearns, Faifax, Va, and Richard R. Stearns, Bolivar, N.Y.; three brothers, Neil Harris, Rixford, Earl Harris, Portville, N.Y. and Carl Harris, Oswayo; one sister, Mrs Beth Dittmer, Coneville and 11 grandchhildren..
Friends were received at the Grabe Fneral Home. A prayer service was conducted at 1:15 Tuesday followed by the funeral from the Hebron Seventh Day Baptist church. at 2:00 o'clock. The Rev Eugene Fatato and Rev Rex Zwiebel officiated. Burial was in the Hebron Cemetery..
