The Hurds came to Genesee about Jfl5 and settled on tl'e farm now owned and occupied by Harry s. Hurd, and has been continually occupied by one of the fam ily since the first arrival. Mrs. Cook and daughter and son of Belle Vernon are guests at the home of her sister, Mrs. Clyde Barr. Miss Gertrude Mays of Bradford pent last week with her aunt, Mrs. Gerald Wykoff. George A. Kenyon George A. Kenyon died Wednesday, August 2, 1950 at the home of his son Howard. He had been an invaIid for nearly two mouths, having suffered a stroke. He was born in Willing Township, N. Y., Dec. 25, 1867, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Kenyon, but most of his life was spent in Genesee. In early life he married Miss Elizabeth Gray, who died in 1928. He started and operated the store now operated by his son. With the son he Is survived by three grandchildren, Mrs. John Ruddenick of Elmira, Doris and Robert of Genesee; one great granddaughter, and a sister, Mrs. Emma Wilson of Port Allegany. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon in the Methodist Church, the Rev. A. J. Bailey officiating. Those from Genesee that attended the Farm Show In Harrisburg the past week were: Elizabeth Mc Cain, Cynthia Parker, Nancy stead-man, Carol Mattison, Marlene Pride, Kathy Pride, Theresa Clancy, John Mertsock, Kenneth Moag, Dale Steadman, Otto Story and David Chamberlain. Nancy Steadman received first prize on her wool dress; second on a fancy apron and fifth on a tailored coat. These were school projects for home economics.

Kenyons to Retire From Business
Mr. and Mrs. Howard G. Kenyon will soon retire after many years of operating a general store in this village.
They will be succeeded by their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Reed, of Genesee, R.D.
The store has been owned by members of the Kenyon family for over 50 years.

Hold Open House On Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Palmatier observed their 25th wedding anniversary on Sunday by holding open house at their home in the afternoon and evening.
About 60 relatives and friends attended. The hostesses were relatives, assisted by their daughter, Mrs. David Hunt, of North Fork. They received many cards and gifts..

• Genesee Students Attend State Farm Show
Those from Genesee that attended the Farm Show In Harrisburg the past week were: Elizabeth Mc Cain, Cynthia Parker, Nancy stead-man, Carol Mattison, Marlene Pride, Kathy Pride, Theresa Clancy, John Mertsock, Kenneth Moag, Dale Steadman, Otto Story and David Chamberlain. Nancy Steadman received first prize on her wool dress; second on a fancy apron and fifth on a tailored coat. These were school projects for home economics.

Kenyons to Retire From Business
Mr. and Mrs. Howard G. Kenyon will soon retire after many years of operating a general store in this village.
They will be succeeded by their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Reed, of Genesee, R.D.
The store has been owned by members of the Kenyon family for over 50 years.

Hold Open House On Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Palmatier observed their 25th wedding anniversary on Sunday by holding open house at their home in the afternoon and evening.
About 60 relatives and friends attended. The hostesses were relatives, assisted by their daughter, Mrs. David Hunt, of North Fork. They received many cards and gifts..
