Hi John! My name is Paige and my brothers and I have been slowly researching our family tree. Our father was adopted in detroit in 1966 and with our DNA results and working with a genealogist we have a strong hunch our great grandparents are alice and Walter wetzel. I've found a photo of alice that you posted and would love to learn more about Walter and Alice and their children if you are willing to share! Pics would also be wonderful! Thank you for your time!

Hi Paige! I'm so sorry I haven't seen your message earlier. Unfortunately the Tree I'm working with only has Walter, not Alice. I am concerned about this, because ancestrydotcom has messed with my Trees alot, so I no longer sync but rather I upload a new version of my current Tree periodically. This may sound strange, but would you mind showing me the photo? my email is wetzupdoc@me.com
It is possible that this branch is expanded in another version of my Tree, equally alarming, but at least I could search for the file.
My Tree does not show a relationship to Walter, but it could just be that I haven't found it yet; that is not unusual. Wetzels ended up around Pittsburgh and WV and various places on the way from Philadelphia, where they immigrated.
Thank you for writing.
ancestryDNA does not show that we are related, right?

Sure I will send a email with the picture i have saved. No we are not DNA matched. I know Alice was married to a seymour before marrying Walter Wetzel. weather she was a widow or divorced i am not sure.

Paige Hendrickson just asked in ancestry.comIn-mail about this photo. The people are not in my Tree. Nor is Elma Jean Wetzel, to whom it is supposed to be connected in my Tree!

e-mail:
Thank you Paige. I found the photo in my Tree. Unfortunately it is supposed to be attached to an ‘Elma Jean Wetzel’, who is not (any longer?) in my Tree. GRRRRR
The references to ‘great grandpa…’ are from the original submitter of the photo; they are not mine. I have actually started to re-arrange the captions in my Tree, text to start out with the originator, at least according to the Source, to make it clear that this photo is not an original of mine. I am very careful to give attribution on all of my Media and Sources, but it doesn’t always work. Some have accused me of stealing their photos, a sentiment I understand because I have experienced similar on seeing some of my originals come around without attribution to me. But I get it.
At any rate,
Does Elma Jean Wetzel sound familiar to you?
The Seymores in my Tree are mostly from northern Pennsylvania, Potter and McKean Counties.
I wish I could be of more help.
