  	Dave Wetmore Dawn, This is the Wetmore line back to the sisters Eliza and Mary Meacham. My dad's parents were Elton E. Wetmore and Olive Jack (maiden name) Wetmore. Grandpa Elton's parents were William Riley Wetmore and Emily Keeler Wetmore. The Wetmore and Keeler families were deeply entrenched with each other's lives. William Riley and Emily were one of three Wetmore siblings and three Keeler siblings that married. Double and triple cousins abounded. Grandma Emily's parents were John Keeler and Mary E. Meacham, Eliza's sister. Dave Wetmore Dawn, My great grandma Emily Keeler Wetmore was Ernest Belmont Keeler's sister! That would make Ernest and Elizabeth Abigail "Abbie" Meacham, Eliza's daughter, first cousins. Dave Wetmore Dawn, The 1920 Hebron Township census I have been studying does not show any Metzgers but the Mattison family is listed. It lists Arthur E. Mattison, householder; Dawn L. , wife; Thelma W. 15 years old daughter; K. Leona 11 years old daughter; and Jefferson W. , 70 years old father (widower). Where did they live? I would love it if this census report had addresses. The end of this report lists Don Stearns as the "enumerator". I guess that means Don was the census taker. George Finster Dave Wetmore; there is a Lillian Wetmore Class 0f 1939 and a Kenneth Wetmore Class of 1944 in the Port Allegany Tiger Lily year books. Dave Wetmore Kenneth is my dad and Lillian is my aunt. They all grew up around the Port Allegany area. My dad was born at Sartwell Creek and grew up mostly at Cady Hollow out past the Village of Wrights outside Port. My dad was the hardest working man I have ever known. For years he got up at 5 AM and milked the cows. Then he went off to an 8 hour shift at the Tannery. Then he came home and milked the cows again, usually not finishing until around 9 PM. During his 2 week vacation from the Tannery we made hay. We used to say that we were tied to cow's tails. About a couple of times a year we took a weekend and went to Washington DC to see my grandparents. Dad could usually get Harry Setzer to do the milking on those weekends. Otherwise, no vacations. When it comes to being a father, I had the best teacher ever. Aunt Lillian is still living at 93 years old and lives about 1-2 miles from my folks.

Record for Elizabeth Burchard - Ancestry of Rutherford Birchard Hayes - Elizabeth Burchard Keeler's bible - Forest Lake Township was formed on 4 May 1836. Ancestry of Rutherford Birchard Hayes The mother of Rutherford B. Hayes was of English descent. The founder of the American family was Thomas Birchard, who, in 1635, came from London in the Truelove to Roxbury, Massachusetts, with his wife Mary and six children. He was made a freeman at Boston, May 17, 1637, and a freeman of Hartford in 1639. He is afterward found at Saybrook, where he was Deputy to the General Court in 1650 and 1651. In a land sale in 1656 he is described as "of Martha's Vineyard." His only son, John Birchard, was born in England in 1628, came to America with his father, and afterwards became a proprietor of Norwich, where he was a man of considerable note. July 22, 1653, he married Christian Andrews, by whom he had fourteen children. She died, probably about 1680, and subsequently he married Mrs. Jane Lee Hyde. He was made a freeman at Hartford in October, 1663, Clerk of the County Court in 1673, Justice of the Peace in 1676, and Deputy to the General Court in 1691. He is the first schoolmaster of Norwich mentioned in the records, being engaged in 1677 for nine months of the year at £25 and provisions. He was one of the four original proprietors of the five- mile tract purchased at Owaneco, in 1692, where Lebanon was located, to which place he removed in 1698. He died November 17, 1702. Of John Birchard's six sons who lived to maturity, the second was James Birchard, born July 16, 1665, who settled at Norwich West Farms, now Franklin. He married Elizabeth Beckwith, March 17, 1696, had ten children and lived to be eighty years old. His son John Birchard, born in 1704, was the father of Elias Birchard, born 1739, who was a Revolutionary soldier. "In June, 1775, Mansfield had a company of 98 men commanded by Colonel Experience Storrs w T ith the Connecticut troops under General Putnam. This company participated in the battle of Bunker Hill, and with these brave volunteers was Elias Birchard, a Mansfield ancestor of R. B. Hayes." x The next year he served as a private in Captain Jonathan Brewster's company, Huntington's regiment, and later in Captain James Dana's company. Elias Birchard married Sarah Jacobs, January 25, 1758. Their oldest child, Roger Birchard, married Drusilla Austin, whose father, Daniel Austin, grandson of Anthony Austin, one of the first settlers of Suffield, Connecticut, was a Revolutionary soldier. They were the parents of Sophia Birchard, mother of Rutherford B. Oh- and another sibling of Sally also married a Jackson- Merrick's brother William Victor, who had the rickets as a child, and developed a hunchback. Harrison Koon (1817-1859) was born at Springwater, Livingston County, New York. Nancy Shay (1826-1887) was born in Livingston County, New York, the daughter of Richard Shay (1784-1861) and Elizabeth Shay (1791-1871). Harrison and Nancy were married in 1846 at Groveland, Livingston County, New York. They had five children, 1847-1857. Harrison Koon died at Roulette, Pennsylvania. Nancy Koon died at Coudersport, Pennsylvania. Their daughter, Harriet Elizabeth Koon (1849-1934) was born at Waverly, New York. She married William Riley Kimball (d. 1924) in 1869 at Coudersport, Pennsylvania. They had two sons, 1871-1873. Their son, Sterling Kimball, was born in Eulalia Township, Potter County, Pennsylvania, in 1873. His wife, Lena Hartwick, was born in 1874 in Wayne County, Pennsylvania. They were married in 1893 at Inez, Pennsylvania. They had three children, 1894-1910, the youngest born at Cross Fork, Pennsylvania. Includes Kimball, Baker and Bloomer grandchildren born in Pennsylvania and California.
