Record for George Mosch Dr. George Mosch Obituary Guest Book COUDERSPORT - George C. Mosch, M.D., 90, of Coudersport, died Monday (Aug. 19, 2013) in his home. He was born Oct. 8, 1922, in Galeton, the fourth of eight children to Otto C. and Mable Burrows Mosch. He graduated from Galeton High School, then studied pre-med at Penn State University while serving in the Army's accelerated war program during World War II. He attended medical school at Hahnemann University in Philadelphia from 1943 to 1946, also in the accelerated war program. He did his internship at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh from 1946 to 1947. He began his career in general practice and then specialized in family practice in Coudersport from December 1947 until his retirement in 1997. During his years of practice he delivered 4,262 babies, reflecting his special interest in obstetrics. He had served on the American Academy of Family Practice, the Board of Family Practice, Potter County Medical Society and the American Medical Association. He was an active member of the Medical Staff of Potter County Memorial Hospital and its successor, Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport. He served several terms as president of Charles Cole Memorial Hospital Medical Staff, on the Board of Directors at Charles Cole Hospital and on the building and grounds committee after his retirement. He also served as physician to the Potter County jail, school physician, physician on the field for home football games and physician to the County Home for many years. He was an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Coudersport, where he was a member of the choir and of the Session. He was a 12-gallon donor of the American Red Cross Blood Bank. He was a member of the Community Chorus, Potter County Historical Society, PA Lumber Museum Association, Potter County Visitors Association, Shade Tree Commission and Habitat for Humanity. He received the PCVA Lifetime membership on June 18, 2003, citizen of the year from the American Legion, citizen of the month from WFRM Radio Station, and he was the first non-Rotarian to receive the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. He enjoyed reading and making minor repairs at home and church. He was also an avid watershed enthusiast, highlighting the unique "triple divide" of Potter County. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Doris; children, Barbara E. (Greg Stoicheff) Mosch of State College, Steven P. (Deb) Mosch of Savannah, Ga., Amy M. Boardman of Coudersport, Sally A. (Todd Hilliard) Fowler of Coudersport, Luke A. (Debra) Mosch of Lancaster; brother, Paul G. Mosch D.D.S.; sister, Evelyn Howell; numerous nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Dr. Mosch was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth P. Mosch MD; two sons, two brothers, three sisters and his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Presbyterian Church, 402 N. Main St., Coudersport, PA 16915; Potter County Hospice, 1001 E. Second St., Coudersport; Coudersport Public Library, Park Avenue, Coudersport, PA; and Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, 1001 E. Second St., Coudersport, PA. Dr. George's visitation will be held Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Coudersport, with a memorial service to follow at the church, Rev.
