Brief accounts of family visits were typical of what passed for "news" in the 1940s-60s, here when my aunt Evelyn Mosch (then Colcord) Lyn Howell met my mom in Coudy to visit Papa Otto and second wife Catherine, brothers Herm, Georg and Paul Mosch, while the dads took to the woods, c. 1964. We stalked the familiar terrain of stubbled corn and potato fields around the Vaughan-Loy homestead on Sweden Hill but the kids' chattering outnoised the wary gobblers.
