Sue,
Actually, the way you stated it, Karl would have been (and was) Robert's grandfather. Robert's middle name was his mother's maiden name, Mosch (as often happens), Karl was her father, Robert's grandfather. I haven't gotten to the Mattisons yet, to know who is father-in-law was, but it was Gladys's father.
I remember those cabins, driving Rte 6 to Mansfield and environs!
Thanks for your email address; mine is wetzupdoc@me.com.

Robert Mosch Kern 1/11/1886 was my grandfather. Someone had stated on the info of a photo of Robert Mosch Kern that his grandfather was Karl Mosch. Not true. Karl Mosch is the father to Lena Mosch Kern. Karl would have been Robert M. Kern's father-in-law. My father was William James Kern 2/15/10 who married Esther Lloyd daughter of Harry and Ora VanAken Lloyd. My grandfather Harry Lloyd had a huge farm on Route 6 between Galeton and Gaines and he built Lloyd's Tourist Cabins on Route 6. I grew up in the Galeton/Gaines area. I am just starting out (about 1 1/2 weeks) with this ancestry so I have tons to learn. I've had lots of info but now just need to get it all together. Thanks for your notes. If it would easier my email address is: sklane@udel.edu

Barbara Mosch, who is your third cousin, is the mother of my three children, so the relationships here are important to the family tree I am consumed with.
I am very interested in relationships (like inter-relationships) within Potter County in a larger sense, as well, looking at some surprising DNA-based connections that touch some lives in curious ways.
Interesting that Imogene Moore Kern was only 15 years old when she married 24 year old Henry, jr; her mother was not listed on the marriage certificate. Elmer was born 3 months later.
Would you mind sharing your Robert Mosch Kern corrections, in case I have some of the incorrect info in my tree?
Would you tell me the maiden name of your mother?
And thank you for helping me straighten this out.

May I ask why you have pictures of my family as in Walter and Lena Kern when the DNA shows no relationship ?

Yes William was my Father and Robert Mosch Kern was my grandfather. Raymond belongs to Elmer. I went to that web site on f/b and asked to become a member. I did see the pictures and yes I have those same photos. I also found one of Robert Mosch Kern with some wrong information and wrote my information to them also. I have the photo but it's at least 90 years old so I don't believe that there will be any better resolutions. Thanks for your replies.

I was trying to let you know who Clara was. Henry Valentine Kern & Wilhelmina Reinwald married & had William who married Lena Mosch who gave birth to Robert Mosch Kern and Henry who married Imogene Moore and had Elmer who married Clara.

OK, I think I have a problem; maybe that's what you're referring to.
Is it a conflict or just more supporting information?
It is not clear from your note- Who are William's parents, your grandparents?
And Raymond?
Sorry to be so obtuse!

This William is your father, got it! Thanks.
Please let me know if this is not the photo to which you refer.
Also if you have a better resolution copy, I'd love to have it, although this one isn't bad.

Hi, Sue!
I can't find the photo you're referring to. And I seem to have lost reference to anybody in your note. I've lost a lot of data over the years with program crashes, reconstructing Trees, breaking them down into usable segments, etc. and I've done a lot of Tree-merging. I've got Walter and Robert Kern, following the Mosch line, but I'm really curious about the family you're talking about.
I really appreciate your note!

Clara Zimmerman Kern was married to Elmer Kern. Both are buried in Knowlton Cem, Gaines, Tioga County. Her father's name was J. Frederick Zimmerman and mother was Susannah McCracken. Her date of birth was 26 April 1888 and death was 14 Aug 1977. Elmer Kern was the father to Raymond who married Eleanor Smith. William James Kern born 2-15-10 is my father. I have that same picture.
