This picture always makes me smile. I believe this was a celebration for Aunt Lyn right before she got married. My dad looks like he would rather be anywhere; he would have been 16 here.

Pat Linkoski Yes, I was 11. I can't believe the boy in the grass is Ray. It doesn't look like him tho' the age, 9, is likely. See my sister, Linda, and her blonde curls?

I wish I could remember this day. I never saw everyone together at one time before. Others guessing boy in front of Aunt Mary is my brother. I doesn't look like him to me but who else could it be? Who is the little girl with her back to pix? Who is next to Aunt Mary? Is the Barbara that texted above George's daughter?

Debra Mosch Hunkele
Joanette Edgar 2 little girls are Herman's daughters, Carol and Lyn, and their mom, Eleanor is next to Aunt Mary. And yes Barbara is George's daughter.

Scraps fall from old scrapbooks leaving only the fog of memory to vaguely mark the passing of time. Brief accounts of family visits were typical of what passed for "news" in the 1940s-60s, here when my aunt Evelyn Mosch (then Colcord) Lyn Howell met my mom in Coudy to visit Papa Otto and second wife Catherine, brothers Herm, Georg and Paul Mosch, while the dads took to the woods, c. 1964. We stalked the familiar terrain of stubbled corn and potato fields around the Vaughan-Loy homestead on Sweden Hill but the kids' chattering outnoised the wary gobblers. There was, however, some grousing about the local coverage. See Less

I’m glad women are now equal enough to have their first names printed.

I was just telling my mom all about this story. It's quite inspiring. You come from strong, determined and very capable stock! What a good read. We don't see self made people like they were much (it at all) anymore. Thanks for sharing.

In sorting through some left-behinds by my mom (Donavieve Leone Mosch, d. Of Otto Carl Mosch and Mabel Burrous), I came across some lose pages from an old scrapbook of newspaper clippings, many without dates, presumably from the Potter County Enterprise and Galeton Free Press- Courier. Some pertain to our family, others not; presented here as they appeared, in no particular chronological order from early 1930s to mid-1950s, they include some births, illnesses, deaths, trivia and triumphs, the ephemera of daily life. If you recognize some names and faces, feel free to comment.
