Of Otto Carl Mosch and Mabel Burrous), I came across some lose pages from an old scrapbook of newspaper clippings, many without dates, presumably from the Potter County Enterprise and Galeton Free Press- Courier. Some pertain to our family, others not; presented here as they appeared, in no particular chronological order from early 1930s to mid-1950s, they include some births, illnesses, deaths, trivia and triumphs, the ephemera of daily life.   	Paul Lynn Gardner August 30 2017 at 4:48pm THESE NEWSPAPER CLIPS FROM A POST BY PATSY PIFER “OLD” TIMERS OF GALETON/GERMANIA/GAINS, WILL BE OF INTEREST TO OTTO MOSCH’S FAMILY. Gottleib H. Bratz and his wife, Louis Taylor were Otto Mosch’s grandparents on his father’s side of the family. The first clipping in this post is clear enough to read. The second clipping reads as follows: JAN 16, 1908 “GERMANIA MAN FROZEN TO DEATH” “On a recent morning Gottlieb Heinrich Bratz, who resides about one mile from Germania, went to Galeton to get his mail, as was his custom and started from home about noon, stopping with relatives for dinner. In the afternoon he left and on the way home he was overtaken by some men in a rig who asked him to ride. It is not understood why he did not inform the men when he reached his home, but he went with them to Rouke’s camp, five miles farther. At the camp he was asked to have supper, but said he would go home as he lived only a short distance from there. When night approached and he had not returned, his wife became alarmed and a party was sent out to search for him. He was found at the foot of a log slide, frozen to death. Mr. Bratz was born in Brandenburg, Prussia, June 24th, 1822 and came to this country in 1854, living in Boston, Mass., until 1862. In 1858 he married Miss Louisa Taylor who came with him to Germania, where they cleared a farm and accumulated considerable property. In 1864 he enlisted in the union army and served until the close of the war. He is survived by his wife and five children.” One of those five children was Louisa Bratz, who married Herman Carl Mosch on 05 Apr 1884 in Wellsboro, PA.
