I'm pretty sure her last name is miss-spelled in the photo- 'Mulauski' is on most certificates I've seen- but it is not unusual to see various spellings of names in general; spelled 'Muloski' or 'Muluaski' in PCHS Quarterly Bulletin, for instance, like in no. 203, January 2017 "Alberta Mulosky Broslet" and The Dresden Quilt which Alberta had made, possibly for her sister Genie's wedding to Leo (not Martin) Weiss.
What IS unusual is the genetics- or is it lifestyle?- they shared. Alberta died 22 Dec 2002, one day short of 100 yrs of life (or 99 yrs, depending on which birthdate is correct); her sister, Genevieve Mulauski Weiss, my next door neighbor through-out my childhood on Center Park ST, Coudersport, is still alive at 104 in the Sweden Valley Manor. I don't think I ever met Alberta, but Mrs. Weiss is one of the most wonderful people I have ever known. And her daughter Ann Weiss married one of my mother's brothers, Sgt. James Spring, US Marine in 1970. Uncle Jim died 14 November 2014 in San Diego, CA, where Ann still lives. [They have one son, Neil, who is a professor of computer science at the University of Maryland. (Uncle Jim specialized in computers in and after the service.)]

This is the above-referenced article in the PCHS Quarterly Bulletin, no. 203, January 2017: Alberta Mulosky (sic- Mulauski) Broslet
Austin Flood survivor, Aberta Mulosky was born in 1902 and lived in Costello with Austrian born parents, Michael Mulosky and Stella Sostock and several siblings. Alberta married in 1922, Julius Broslet, a railroad agent whose work took
them to Indiana where their only child, Francis Broslet was born. By 1930 they are living in Homer township. Her sister
Genevieve was married around 1935 to Martin(sic- Leopold) Weiss.
The Dresden Plate quilt on a purple background was made by Alberta, possibly for her sister’s wedding.
Alberta and Julius’s only son, Francis went off to war and did not come home. His tombstone reads, “ In memory of Son, Lost at Sear(sic), 1943, WWII”. Alberta died in 2002, one day short of being 100. Her quilt was donated by her nephew, Martin Weiss and his wife,
of Coudersport.

Wow! I knew them when I was about 12. She and Julius lived in Big Moore's Run. My brother and I would bring Julius and her a dozen eggs on our bicycles and they would pay us 1 dollar each. they were in their 70s then. As a young boy you never realize that old people were once this young. She is beautiful.

The Dresden Plate quilt on a purple background made by Alberta, possibly for sister Gennie's wedding to Leo. |
Corrected in next issue, both name (Muluaski) and husband (Leo. Martin was their son):
Corrections to January Quarterly Bulletin, Keeping Warm
Alberta Broslet Muluaski’s name was misspelled and is
corrected here, and her sister’s husband was Leopold
Weiss, not Martin.

| Aunt Alberta was the last living survivor who remembered the Austin Dam flood disaster |
- 20181126HAv-
Marty Weiss, FBMessenger:
I don't remember sending you home, but I recall enjoying you when around. You and the rest of the family brought many enlightened times visiting.
Regarding Francis-
A memorial building was constructed at St. Augustine Cemetery in Costello with the insurance money my aunt received from the government, regarding the loss of Francis.. This building houses cemetery related tools. Grandfather Mulauski was instrumental in maintenance of the cemetery, early 1900's. However he wasn't interred there.
Another story!!!
He had a pool hall and store in Costello after immigrating. Ultimately moving to Coudersport, working at the tannery. He was helping rescue people during the 1942 flood. He was riding on a state highway truck and fell off when rounding a corner. He died a few days later. Aunt Alberta was the last living survivor who remembered the Austin Dam flood disaster. Thank you for your persistence in researching families/history.

one son, Francis, lost at sea in the North Atlantic (torpedoed) during WWII. Marty- Francis Broslet was the only son of my aunt & uncle, Julius and Alberta Broslet. |
- 20181126HAv-
20181125 FBMessenger, Marty Weiss:
On the cousin lost at sea during WWII.
He was a radio operator on one of the Liberty Ship merchant ships. The notice to my aunt & uncle stated the ship was torpedoed in the North Atlantic. The ship was the US Malantic. All were lost. One report said there were survivors at first trying to be rescued by a British ship. Rough seas knocked them of the climb netting and all were lost. Francis Broslet was the only son of my aunt & uncle, Julius and Alberta Broslet.
Alberta was the older sister of my Mother. They never got over their loss.
