LEWIS ANGEVINE
Lewis Angevine was born in Broome County, N. Y., November 4, 1846 and was married in Coudersport, Pa., to Safrona Roberts on May 4, 1871. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George Barr in Austin on January 18, 1931.
Deceased spent some years near Pine Creek where he worked for Henry Dyr hauling logs. He met his wife in 1867 while she worked at the James Francis camp. Later he moved to a small farm near Sweden Valley. He was employed by A. G. Lyman as carpenter to build the saw mill after which he was filer and kept boarding house for the men who worked in the mill. He did the carpenter work on the Methodist Church and was superintendent of the Sunday School until he moved away. All children of that generation will remember his faithful work In the church and Sunday school. His joyful voice singing the hymns of that day is still a familiar memory that will be with many of the pupils to the end of their earthly career. He had no great wealth, but the amount that he will inherit in his Father's kingdom will not be small.
In 1890 Mr. Angevine with his family moved to Costello, where they made many friends. Their home was a place where hospitality, good cheer and christian living was the daily routine. Here the family grew up and went out to homes of their own. In addition to their own family at this time, two little twin girls, Hattie and Mattie, now

Later another brother, Ezerhat, came over and he died in New York and another brother later came to Rochester, N. Y.
