I am also uploading as clear a copy as I can make of the original letter. _______________________ Willing [illegible] 18th 1853[?] I now attempt to write a few lines to you to congratulate you upon your safe arrival at your parents fireside in whose sosiety [sic] you must necessarily enjoy perfect peace and happiness [?]. But you may be somewhat surprised at my presumption on so short an acquaintance but nevertheless being prompted by pure motives I have the boldness to solicit your further acquaintance hoping thereby to promote or procure that happiness which kindred spirits find in each others society. Should [it be] agreeable to you (and if it would not interfere with any previous engagements) I would like to make you a visit soon, as soon as circumstances will permit. You will allow me to say your presence at your sister's has awakened sensations to which I have hitherto been a stranger and since your absence has only increased. Will you write me an answer to this and addresss it to willing PO Allegany Co as soon as convenient. While going through my late parents' family papers I found this document. After struggling to read it I found it very interesting. These were my 2nd great grandparents on my mother's side. I am also uploading as clear a copy as I can make of the original letter.
