- Sergt. Donald R. Hamilton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hamilton, of Shinglehouse, has been promoted to his present rank from corporal. He has been with the 19th Bomb Squadron overseas for the past seventeen months. His brother, P.F.C. James E. Hamilton, is also stationed overseas. He was in the Hawaiian Islands at the time of the Jap attack there December 7, 1941.

Over Two Years in Pacific Area Gets Home
T. Sgt. Donald R. Hamilton, bombardier, serving in the Pacific area for the past 26 months, is spending a furlough at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hamilton, of Shinglehouse.
Sergeant Hamilton has been awarded the Oak Leaf Cluster and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He brought home a Jap flag for a souvenir.

Sunnyside, Aug. 28. - Mr. and Mrs. Joe Snyder of Allegany were callers at the home of his sister, Mrs. Bert Kellogg, and family.
Margery and Alice Kellogg were guests at the home of their brother, Karl Kellogg, at Shinglehouse last Thursday.
Mr. and Mrs. James Swift and children of Rixford were dinner guests at the home of her mother, Mrs. Ervin Kellogg, Friday.
Mrs. Ervin Kellogg and son, Heath, were in Bolivar Monday.
Laura, Dick and Alice Kellogg visited at the home of Isaac. Dingman and family at Shinglehouse Sunday.
Mrs. Ida Genaux is visiting her son, Charles, at Ames, Iowa, and expects also to visit her son, Theron, at Blanding, Utah, before returning home.
Jack Genaux and family oof Plank Road were callers at the home of Sidney Genaux and family Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kellogg and family attended the funeral of her, brother, Charles Snyder, at Crandall Hill Sunday.
