Burt, Benjamin born Warwick, Orange County, N. Y., March 9, 1750, came to Chemung in 1789 among the early settlers, where he died May 10, 1826. His wife was Johanna Parahall, and she was born February 16, 1754, and died at Chernung on March 20, 1850 aged ninety-three. By her he had these children: Benjamin Ruth,David, Keziah, Beldon, Israel, Asahel, and Elizabeth. David Burt, born at Sugar Loaf, Lycoming County, Pa., in 1786, married Phebe. daughter of Kenney Burnbam, of Chemung, N. Y, and then children were Benjamin F, George W., David A. J., Mary, Isabella and C Columbus [twins], Susan, John W., Phebe A,, and Williim H., John W. Burt was born at August, 1833. Annie Sayre of Chemung; daughter of Thompson Sayre, and their children are Zella and Helen.. Mr. Burt owns and occcupied his father´s farm. George W. Burt was born at Ridgebury, Bradford, Pa., December 28, 1823, and in 1830 he came to Chemung, where he married Harriet daughter.cf. George and Polly Baldwin. Their children were Jacob, Sarah, Emma, and Frank. He married second, Abbie, daughter of John and Emaline (Murry) Benedict. They had one son, John B. His third wife was Rachel, daughter of Abram and Laura (Brink) Willis, of Union, Broome County, N. Y., by whom he has one son, Willis G. He is now a farmer in Chemung where he has lived since, seven years of age. He served in Company C, Fiftieth New York Engineers, from Ithaca, N. Y.; for three years, when he was disabled, and in 1861 he received an honorable discharge. He now draws a pension.

Popular Young Man Takes Philadelphia Young Lady as His Bride.
The marriage of Miss Margaret Felton McCann and Lyman Manning Burt took place Friday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock in the parsonage of St. James Methodist Church in Philadelphia.
White flowers and white candles on the mantle over a fireplace formed the background for the bridal party. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, Charles B. McCann of Philadelphia, wore a gown of pale blue chiffon. Her sister, Miss Dorothy McCann, who was her only attendant, wore pale pink chiffon. Both carried old-fashioned bouquets.
Mr. Burt was attended by Mor ton Lilly, Jr., of Coudersport.
After the ceremony photographs of the bridal party were taken and an informal reception held which was followed by a dinner at Cecile's.
Mr. and Mrs. Burt left that evening for a short motor trip through Northern Maryland and reached Coudersport Sunday evening. They are at home in an apartment owned by Mrs. P. S. Patterson.
Mrs. Burt received her education at the Olney High School in Philadelphia and was graduated from Pennsylvania State College last Spring. She also attended several Summer sessions at Syracuse University.
Mr. Burt, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Menzo M. Burt of Coudersport, is an alumnus of Coudersport High School, Class of 1933, and of Pennsylvania State College, Class of 1938. He is employed in the Potter County Garage.
WEST PENN VETERAN
Melvin G. Lignian was present at the West Penn Power Company, Veterans' 18th annual reunion in Connellsville last Wednesday and was one of 23 present who had completed 30 years of continuous service with the company. Mr. Lignian operates the auxiliary plant here.

Menzo M. Burt
Menzo M. Burt, 87, of Coudersport died Friday (Nov. 6, 1970) at his E. Second St. home following a short illness.
He was born in Burtville Dec. 3, 1882, a son of Lyman and Mary Noether Burt. He was married in 1904 to the former Iva Manning. She died on May 8, 1958. In 1960, he married the former Clara Deagon, who died in 1968.
A resident of Coudersport for 46 years, he was the owner and manager of the Potter County Garage for 35 years.
He previously lived in Roulette and had served as the postmaster there.
He was a member of the Park United Methodist Church, Eulalia Lodge 342 F&AM, the Coudersport Consistory, and was a former chairman of the Potter County Democratic Committee.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Fatzinger of Camp Hill and Mrs. John (Marian) Sucowish of Endicott, N.Y.; a son, Lyman Burt of Endwell, N.Y.; four grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
A funeral service was held Monday afternoon at Grabe-Fickinger Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald H. G. Miller, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, officiating.
Pall bearers included John Hughes, Gorton Romaneo, Darnell Cook, Donald Fatzinger, Dave Gunzburger, Kenneth Olin and Milt Potter. Interment was in Card Creek Cemetery at Roulette. Masonic memorial services were held at the funeral home on Sunday evening.
Ernest E. Baker
Ernest Baker, 62, died Saturday (Nov. 7, 1970) in Cole Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
Mr. Baker was a retired farmer in the Ulysses area.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mae Pye of Wattsburg and Mrs. Peg Shutt of Genesee; three brothers, Lewis Baker of Galeton, Fred Baker of Coudersport and Leo Baker of Ulysses.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Koch and Kear Funeral Home with the Rev. Faith Orth, pastor of Mills Union Church, officiating.
Interment followed in Ulysses Cemetery.
Willard L. Cutler
Willard Lester Cutler, 75, of Shinglehouse, formerly of Galeton, died Monday (Nov. 2, 1970) in Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport after a short illness.
He was born August 15, 1895, in Kansas to Raymond F. and Vivia De Vinna. He was married to the former Grace Redner who is deceased. A retired carpenter, he is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Blanche Gross of Coudersport, Mrs. Beulah Martinez of Coudersport, R.D., Mrs. Flora Prentice of Belfast, N.Y., Mrs. Edith Mack of Genesee, R. D. 2, and Mrs. Joyce Palmer of Sycora, New Mexico; one son, Leroy of Scharrad, 111.; one brother, Edward of Shinglehouse; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Bennett of Alma, N.Y., Mrs. Flora Densmore of Ceres, N.Y., and Mrs. Mary Gee of East Aurora, N.Y., and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The funeral was Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with interment in Raymond Cemetery at Gold.
Funeral arrangements were by Brown Funeral Home, Galeton.
