Henry Dingman married Peggy ?. Both are listed on 1820 Census of Potter County, Pennsylvania as being 45+ so they would have been born before 1775. It appears they died before 1830, or they might have moved from Potter County. They do not appear on the 1830 Census for that county. (1)John Dingman born 12/23/1787, died 8/6/1878, married Hannah ?. She was born 10/23/1792 and died 12/9/1869. (1)Margarette P. was born 1815 in New York, married Orange W. Strong who was born in Connecticut in 1807. They had 10 children. Both are supposed to be buried near Coudersport, PA nd are believed to have lived to be 100. (1)Mary Martha married Joseph Halladay on 7/3/1856 in Eulalia Township. (2)A son who died at the age of 3 from diphtheria in 1859. (2)Betsey was born 1816 in Pennsylvania, married Luther Strong, Jr. who was born in 1812 in Vermont. He was a brother to Orange. They had 8 children. (3)Phoebe was born 10/17/1818, died 1/22/1913, married S. P. Lyman in 1842 and he died in 1844. (1)Samuel P. Lyman Jr. who died when he was 2. She then married Rodney M. Fessenden in 1844. They had 5 sons. (4)Nathan Turner Dingman, born 7/16/1822 in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, served in Co. C of the 13th Regiment of the Pennsylvania Calvary during the Civil War (and contracted a disease which finally caused his death), died 8/31/1897 in Newton, Iowa, married Charlotte E. Palmer 5/10/1844. They came to Iowa in March 1868 and settled on a farm near Metz. In 1881 they left the farm and moved to Newton. Charlotte was born 1/5/1827 in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, died 10/1/1898 in Newton, Iowa. Her parents were John Palmer and Rachel Stevens. (1)Emma J. born 1845 in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, married Charles P. Russell. See The Russell Family pages. (1)Oscar H., born 10/1858 in Iowa, died 12/26/1872.
