A double-ring ceremony, performed by candlelight in the sanctuary of Park Methodist Church Saturday evening, united in marriage Miss Patricia L. Hamilton and Joseph E. Snyder, both of Coudersport.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry K. Hamilton and her husband is the son of Mrs. Oscar Snyder and the late Mr. Snyder. The Rev. LaRue Bender, pastor of the church, officiated at an altar decorated with white gladioli and asters. Miss Lucille Clark, organist, played traditional wedding music and accompanied Keith Kelligan who sang the Wedding Prayer.
Entering the sanctuary on the arm of her brother, William, the bride wore a floor-length gown which featured a hooped skirt, lone lace sleeves and a fitted bodice. Her veil fell from a crown headpiece and she carried a white floral arrangement.
Her attendants were Linda Potter, maid of honor and Mary Matzinger, Phyllis Jaros and Gail and Carole Hamilton. Their identical gowns were pink, fashioned with floor-length overskirts. empire waistlines and short sleeves. They carried bouquets of white asters, tipped with blue.
Allen Snyder served as his brother's best man and ushers were Gary, Don and Milton Snyder, brothers of the bridegroom, and David Matzinger.
Marie Lyon, a cousin of the bride, was flower girl, and ringbearer was Jimmy Snyder, a nephew of the bridegroom.
The bride's mother wore a cream-colored two-piece dress with brown accessories and a red rose corsage. Mrs. Snyder wore a navy blue dress with a pink rose corsage.
A reception at Potato City Inn was held following the ceremony for approximately 170 relatives and. friends.
The couple left on a wedding trip to Washington, Florida and other points of interest before returning to Fort McClellan, Ala., where the bridegroom Is stationed. He expects to be released from the army in late November, when they plan to make their home In Coudersport.
The bride, a 1964 graduate of Coudersport Area High School, has worked at Clark. Bros.. Olean. Her husband was graduated here in 1959 and attended Lock Haven State College. Before joining the army, he was employed at Pepper's Food Market.
Pre-nuptial parties were held last month by the bride's friends at Old Hickory, Coudersport, the Castle In Olean.
