Edgar K. Binkley, 86, died Friday evening at the Maple Farm Nursing Home, Akron, after a long illness. He lived at 8 Dawn Ave., Akron.
Born in Leacock, he was a son of the late Zephaniah and Frances Keens Binkley. He was the husband of Vera Mae Stephan Binkley.
The Binkleys celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary June 16.
He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Ephrata. Binkley worked for the Conestoga Transportation Co. as a night supervisor and repairman and was last employed by Gooding, Simpson and Mackes, roofing contractors, Ephrata.
Besides his widow, at home, he is survived by four daughters:
Mrs. Beulah B. Eshleman, Akron;
Mary Jane, wife of R. U. Fassnacht, Ephrata;
Dorothy A., wife of Ralph H. Groff, Lancaster; and
Ruth E., wife of W. Richard Goshert, Akron.
Five grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Zion United Church of Christ, Ephrata, with the Rev.
Lee D. Loos officiating. Interment followed in Lincoln Cemetery. Stradling Funeral Home, Akron, was in charge.
