Miss Mary Jane Binkley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar K. Binkley, of Akron, became the bride of Roy U. Fassnacht, son of Mr. and Mrs. William W. Fassnacht, of Schoeneck, on Sunday at 4 p.m., at the home of the bride, in the presence of the immediate families. The Rev. O. R. Brooks, of Denver, officiated.
The bride was attired in a princess gown marquisette, with a sweetheart neckline trimin iceed, pearls, and long train. shoulder length veil was fastened to a Juliet cap of seed pearls and she carried bouquet rosebuds and an orchid. The couple was unattended.
The bride's mother wore a beige dress and a corsage of gardenias. The groom's mother was attired in a grey tailored dress.
The home was decorated with candelabra, ferns and cut flowers. The bride is a graduate of the Ephrata High School and the Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing, and is employed as office nurse for Dr. C. Eugene Miller, of Ephrata. The couple left for a two weeks' stay at Ocean City, The bridegroom is a graduate of the Denver High School and Beckley College, Harrisburg, and is engaged in the general insurance business in Ephrata.

Miss Fassnacht Is Bride of J. C. Weidman II
The wedding of Miss Carla Sue Fassnacht, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. U. Fassnacht, 171 Ridgeway Ave., Ephrata, and John Carl Weidman II, was solemnized on Sunday at 6 p.m. in United Church of Christ, Ephrata, with the Rev. Charles Strasbaugh officiating. Mr. Carl Weidman.
The bridegroom. is the son of r & Mrs J. Carl Weidman, 1019 Hillerest Road, Akron.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Miss Christine Bixler, Bethlehem, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Diane Howitt, New York City, and Miss Delphine Myers, Ephrata.
Flower girl was Meri Musser, Denver R2. Michael Wolf, Ephrata, was ring bearer.
Thomas Amato, Atco, N. J., served as best man. Ushers were Ronald Boltz, Akron; John Hofeldt, New York City; Stanley Shrom, Akron, and Daniel Garrett, Denver.
Mrs. Karl Reddig was organist. Soloist was Dennis Bender.
The bride wore a candlelight silk organza gown, styled with an empire bodice appliqued with Alencon lace and seed pearls. An organza pillbox held her silk illusion train-length mantilla, bordered anace. appliqued with Alencon She carried a prayer book with a cascade of white roses and variegated ivy.
Following the reception held at the Foodergong Lodge, the couple left on wedding trip to the Poconos. They will reside in Chicago, Ill.
The bride, a 1963 graduate of Ephrata High School, alumna Goucher College, Baltimore, Md., class of 1967. She is employed as an English teacher in Chicago.
The bridegroom, also a 1963 graduate of Ephrata High School, graduated from Princeton University in 1967. He will do graduate work at the University of Chicago in the sociology of education.
The bride was honored at three pre-nuptial showers given by Bixler and Miss Howitt; Miss Myers, and the bride's aunts, Miss Beulah Binkley, Miss Dorothy Binkley and Mrs. Richard Goshert.
The bridegroom's parents entertained at a post-rehearsal dinner at the Ephrata Legion.

• Mary Jane Fassnacht
Mary Jane Fassnacht, 96, of Lititz, PA and formerly of Ephrata, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Luther Acres. Her husband, the late Roy U. Fassnacht, passed away February 25, 1981. They were married on August 8, 1943. Mary Jane was born in Akron, PA, daughter of the late Edgar and Vera (Stephan) Binkley.
She graduated from Ephrata High School in 1937 and Lancaster General College of Nursing in 1939. As a Registered Nurse, Mary Jane worked briefly at the Ephrata Community Hospital, then at Dr. Eugene Miller's medical office in Ephrata in the 1940's and then again in the 1960's, briefly as the Ephrata High School Nurse, and then most recently at the Denver Nursing Home. Mary Jane also worked part-time at Royer's Flower Shop. Mary Jane attended Bethany United Church of Christ and Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, both of Ephrata.
She was a Life Member of the Ephrata Women's Club, member of the Ephrata Hospital Auxiliary, Meals On Wheels Volunteer, and Girl Scout Leader. As a resident of Luther Acres, she enjoyed knitting, games, creating life stories, and participating in a variety of activities. Mary Jane is survived by one daughter, Carla S. Weidman (John); two grandchildren: J. Scott Weidman (Lisa) and Rebecca Weidman (Andrew Sapiente); one great-granddaughter, Lucia Weidman; one sister, Ruth Goshert; one niece; and one nephew.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by two sisters: Beulah Eshleman and Dorothy Groff. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 27th at Mellinger's Cemetery in Schoeneck, PA. Memorial donations may be made to Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Ephrata, WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital or, to Luthercare.
