He and his wife Lydia came to America on the second trip of the \"Lion\", which was in 1632, according to findings of their 1631 marriage in England in The Great Migration Begins series, Vol III, pp.1426-1430. This is in conflict with passenger lists which put them on the first voyage of the \"Lion\" in 1630. It is difficult, however, to get around the marriage finding in England on a date later than that sailing. Lydia\'s brother, John Eliot, was also on that second sailing in 1632. He married Lydia Eliot at High Laver, Co.Essex, England on Jul 26,1631. He was baptized Chipping Ongar, Essex, 29 July 1599, son of James and Annis (Wilcock) Penniman. They came from High Laver, Essex to Massachusetts Bay in 1631 on second trip of the "Lyon." First settled in Boston; later moved to Braintree. They had ten children: James, Lydia Adams, John, Joseph, Sarah Robinson, Bethia Allen, Samuel, Hannah Hall Haskins, Abigail Cary, & Mary Paine.
