PLEASE STOP THE ERRORS. Jane (unknown) (Howard) Allen's 1705 will designates 11 children.
WATCH OUT FOR FICTIONAL LINEAGES. Maiden name not Allen if she is Jane the wife of Abraham Howard, Sr., b. 1725, who had Abraham Howard, Jr., b. 1755 & 10 other children alive named in her 1705 will, plus 1 LUCY, relationship unspecified: MARY, SARAH, JAMES, SUSANNA, ANN, ELIZABETH, JOHN, ABRAHAM, Jr., CHARLES, JUDAH (dau), RICHARD.
Jane md. 2) ___? Allen, bef. her 1805 will. Because she gives her son Abraham a horse in 1705sic, he must still be alive. So Jane is NOT the mother of the Abraham Howard who died in 1795 in Jefferson, TN, ten years earlier, son of John Howard and husband of Lydia Stewart., That other Abraham Howard, being deceased, no longer needed a horse. Please stop combining identities of 2 different Abrahams.
Mrs. Jane ___? (Howard) Allen of Rowan County, who named her Howard children in her will, made her will in 1805 under ALLEN, which is the surname of her 2nd husband. Please see her will in Memories that names her 11 chlldren and 1 other female, relationship not specified. She was Mrs. Jane (---some speculate Rainwater?) (Howard) Allen who made her will in 1805. Howard is a common name and there were several Howards in Rowan County and different parts of North Carolina. Jane did NOT have 24 children.
See her will transcription in Memories.

JANE WAS NOT AN ALLEN BY BIRTH, but was the widow Allen when she made her will in 1805 and named her Howard children by Abraham.
JANE WAS NOT AN ALLEN BY BIRTH. SHE MD. 1) ABRAHAM HOWARD, Sr., who died in the Revolutionary War in 1782, (see sources) and 2) in 1787, JOHN ALLEN. So Jane was widow Allen when she wrote her will. She named no Allen children in her will but named her Howard children. See her will transcription and the 190 page study, "Abraham Howard, the Tory." Jane md. John Allen in 1797. He d. 1800. Jane was the widow of John Allen as well as "relict of Abraham Howard" when she made her will. Not an Allen by birth.

Too bad she cannot keep her 2nd husband John Allen per the will book & gets Allen "parents."
"Lineages" being purported online stand in the way of letting Jane's family be factual per her will. She names 10 children, & one name is not specified at to relationship. See her will in Memories. Now she only has 10 or 11 extra children. Sad we cannot keep this family accurate by serious standards.

BY HER 1805 WILL, WE KNOW she was NOT the mother of Abraham Howard, d. 1795 who md. Lydia Stewart
JANE NAMED 11 CHILDREN in 1805 including a living son Abraham. Jane unknown (Howard) Allen, md. 2) John Allen so had the Allen surname when she made her will in 1805 in which she named 11 Howard children and an unspecified relationship to a Lucy. PLEASE stop mixing up the several different Howard families in the area, and elsewhere. Here are her children named in her will and the legacy she gave each of them:
MARY (Howard) Sakey- given 1 dollar
SARAH (Howard) Fanning- given 1 dollar
JAMES Howard-half of Jane’s land and remaining perishable property after all other children received their portions.
SUSANNA (Howard) Vance-1 dollar
ANN (Howard) Fanning- 1 dollar
ELIZABETH Howard – half of the mother’s wearing apparel
JOHN Howard- 1 dollar
ABRAHAM Howard [Jr.]- 1 horse
CHARLES Howard- 1 dollar
JUDAH (dau) Howard- half the mother’s wearing apparel and half of the remaining perishable property after all other children received their portions.
RICHARD Howard- 1 dollar
Also named a Lucy Kenney – 1 dollar, but without specifying a relationship.

DID SHE REALLY HAVE 24 CHILDREN? She didn't mention that many in her will.
Please proved relationships by historical records and let's not have Jane be a "catchall" mom for lots of unrelated Howards.

WATCH OUT FOR ERRORS. Maiden name not Allen if she is Jane the wife of Abraham Howard, Sr., b. 1725, who had Abraham Howard, Jr., b. 1755 & others & then she md. 2) John Allen, bef. her 1805 will
That Jane Allen of Rowan County, who named her Howard children in her will, made her will in 1805 under ALLEN is the surname of her 2nd husband. Please see her will. If maiden name Allen, she was NOT the mother of the Abraham Howard who died 1795, husband of Lydia Stewart, because her son Abraham Howard, Jr. and other children still alive in 1805 were mentioned in Mrs. Jane (---Rainwater?) (Howard) Allen will in 1805. Howard is a common name and there were several Howards in Rowan County and different parts of North Carolina.

Amazing woman!?! She currently has more than 24 children & some after she was 50.
Certainly not all of these children from various locations were not hers and were not named in her will. Please respect FS's reputation by not adding unrelated people. And interesting that she died in North Carolina but was buried in Pennsylvania. Can we please notice different locations and etc.

Ancestry, Geni, MyHeritage, etc. and other pay site attachments
I am trying to sort through this family to figure out who is the parent of Abraham born 1813, son of James Howard, who is one of the plethora of children born to Abraham Howard and Jane Allen (supposedly). I do not have access to Ancestry or any pay site; therefore, I cannot read any of the source documentation that is attached to Howard family members up and down this tree branch. If someone has proof of the marriage between Jane "Allen" and Abraham, I'd appreciate a copy. I have searched and searched and searched for proof of James Howard's marriage to a Sarah in NC or TN and a birth record for their child Abraham in Tennessee and cannot locate the record in FamilySearch nor outside sources. I've also reviewed historical books. I see see several abandoned Jane Allen or Jane Allen Rainwater IDs (several Abrahams and James as well) all over FamilySearch with either zero source data or source data that is from outside of this genealogy database, and the puzzle remains unsolved (at least for those who exclusively use FamilySearch). Please feel free to email me at klynhaines@gmail.com if you are willing to share attachments. My next stop is the temple to ask if they will print out these out for me. If I can disprove the relationship of my ancestor in this lineage I will gladly disconnect us! :)

About Jane Allen M89N-BD2
The marriage record attached for Ms. Jane Allen was indexed incorrectly. Upon further review to identify the mystery husband I found that Jane Allen was married to Harrison Durham on 8 February 1859 with the marriage bond occurring on 10 February 1859. I'm detaching it.

will probated Feb 1806. James Rainwater could have been her brother who was mentioned in Abraham Howard's will of surry co , North Carolina who Abraham Howard described in his will "who is my trusty friend to convey the title of my land on the double Creek of the Yadkin River. ....Test Abraham Howard (seal), Edmund Pace by James Rainwater was duly acknowledged by James Rainwater for and in behalf of said Howard and also Edmond Pace proved that he heard said Howard and also Edmond Pace proved that he heard said Howard direct Rainwater to execute that same in his name and for him and which power is ordered to be recognized at large. this kind of person in a will is usaually related immediately to the will maker. It is also noted that one of their children was named James...a name not used frequently by the Howard family.
