Daughter Betty. Named as Bettey Bruce in Samuel Benton’s will. She died in Mar 1799, Guilford Co., NC. Her husband, Charles Bruce, was a complainant in the Penny Benton equity suit.
Son Jesse. Named in Samuel Benton’s will. He left a will, dated 21 Oct 1790, Orange Co., NC. He was not named in the Penny Benton equity suit, which may indicate that his mother was not Frances Kimbrough.
Son Lam (aka Lemuel). Named In Samuel Benton’s will. Named in the Penny Benton lawsuit. He died in 1818, Darlington Co., SC.
Daughter Pattey. Named in Samuel Benton’s will. Married Mark Mangum of Wake Co., NC. Mark Mangum and Martha, his wife, were complainants in the Penny Benton equity suit.

Edward Frost, A Vintage Vignette -HHC
Don Frost of Athens submitted a story about his ancestor Edward Frost in the book "Heritage of Madison County, Alabama" (1998). Don wrote that Edward was born around 1770 in Bedford County, Virginia.He was a son of Reverend John Frost. Edward married Amilla Roberts in 1791 in Washington County, Virginia. Amilla was a daughter of Cornelius and Mary (Benton) Roberts. Cornelius was killed by Indians in 1788 while he was digging ginseng roots. Amilla's mother, Mary, later married Reverend John Frost, Edward's father.
