I will next cover the children of Albert & Dorothy Fuller Davey. Of this family of 12, only 3 were boys. The Davey girls flourished but the Davey boys, to my knowledge had very few children, and of those, all were female, thus ending the Y-DNA chromosome of the Davey lineage. There clearly is one trait that has been passed along from Albert and Dorothy, most likely Dorothy “Dollie”, to their Davey descendants that was not carried on the Y chromosome. Bill Morey, grandson of Albert & Dollie, has informed me of the many musicians in the Davey family. Some were violinists, and some pianists. Gladys Retha Davey Walaski has been described as a piano prodigy, having had no lessons, yet able to play anything she heard. According to Bill Morey, his grandmother, Dollie, was badly burned while boiling pine tar, which led to her eventual death. Pine tar has been used for the making of rosin used on the horse hairs on violin bows and perhaps this explains her purpose in boiling the pine tar.
When Ruth Davey was born on July 22, 1894, in Bingham, Pennsylvania, her father, Albert, was 29 and her mother, Dorothy, was 21. She married Leon Clark Chase and they had eight children together. She then had one son with Albert Eugene Kellogg II. She died in January 1980 in Elmira, New York, at the age of 85, and was buried in Roulette, Pennsylvania.
