BEERS, 1880 ================= Walter Shay was born in Boston,MA , in 1819, in 1837 he removed to Allegany Co., NY, and remained there until 1840, when he removed to Eagle, Wyoming Co.,NY. He was two years supervisor of that town. In 1850 he was married to Miss CAROLINE F. GALLY, of Nunda, NY, by whom he had two children. In 1858 he engaged in mercantile business at Eagle Village. He was a United States assistant assessor for the 29th district for nine years from 1862.
