C. Earl Vance Dies in Gull Point, Florida.
C. Earl Vance died at his home in Gull Point, Fla., early Saturday morning, August 18, after an illness of several weeks, according to information received by friends here. Mr. Vance was 74 years old. He was a native of Clarksburg, W.Va., but resided in Gordon county a number of years before going to Florida to live some years ago. He was a civil engineer and did the surveying on many of Gordon county's roads. He made the map of the county now in use. He was a member of the First Baptist church of Pensacola, Fla., and a veteran of the Spanish-American war. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Harriet Vance. Interment was in Gull Point, Fla.
