- Source Medium: Newspaper Suzanne S. Getchell, native of Olean: Brooksville, Fla- Suzanne S. Getchell of 900 N. Broad St. died Tuesday (May 26, 1998) at Olean (N.Y.) General Hospital after a long illness. Born June 6, 1944, in Olean, she was a daughter of John H. and Iva K. Snyder Spring. On Aug. 10, 1963, in Massachusetts, she married David W. Getchell, who died Dec. 30, 1996. After her parents died when she was 9 years old, she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and Raymond Tauscher, in Coudersport, Pa. A former resident of Allegany, N.Y. and Coudersport, Mrs. Getchell was a manager of hotel resorts and was last employed with Royal Aloha Hawaiiana Resorts in Honolulu. Surviving are her aunt, Elizabeth Tauscher; a son, Donald Getchell of Brooksville, Fla; six brothers, John Spring of Portville, N.Y., Joseph Spring of Pierce, Fla, Judson Spring and Jerry Spring, both of Allegany, James Spring of San Diego, Calif, and Jay Dennis Spring of Olean; two sisters, Mrs. Kathryn (Emmanuel) Nicosia of Alden, N.Y. and Mrs. Merlyn (Edwin) Wetzel of Coudersport; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the Hernando/Pasco Hospice, 12260 Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville, Fla, 34613. Arrangements are under the direction of Guenther Funeral Home Inc., Olean.
