  Source Medium: Electronic Source Quality: excellent The Ortschronik was written in the middle of last century, probably before World War II, and the reissue date of 1974 is deceiving. I assume they eliminated some Third Reich language. The language is old style, and it is - as usual for those works - pretty sentimental. Don't take everything seriously. The Ortschroniken are usually written by amateurs. Some explanation to the Ortschronik: Friedrichstal is unusual, because it was founded only in 1699 by cutting an existing Gemarkung (village area) in half, that of the village Spöck. Spöck was severely depleted in inhabitants, and they could not care for all of their fields. That did not keep them from fighting the new foundation Friedrichstal. There were only about 20 original founding families of Friedrichstal. The new village attracted a lot of French emigrants which were fluctuating around Germany and Switzerland. There was a lot of coming and going, which keeps tracking the ancestry difficult. The Ortschronik talks (I have marked it) that Bonnet came from Dauphine in the southwestern Alps. There is a detailed list of the emigrants, and in 1739 there is two Bonnets listed going to Pensylvania. If that's the people you were looking for, they did not spent more than 20-30 years in Friedrichstal at all, and it was more like a transition station. [By the way, the Ortschronik talks that at least mid last century there were still descendants with this family name in Mannheim.]
