A relative of mine too - his wife was my great-grandpa's sister. Can you imagine seeing anything that graphic in today's newspapers ?!

Patricia Neilly Vella Isaac travelled, with his regiment, by foot mostly, from Winchester, VA (1862) through Tennesee, Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia to Washington and marched in the vistory parade in 1865. Isaac had 4 cousins, and 4 brothers-in-law in the war. Isaac's brother worked for the Military Railroad and was killed in some kind of an accident.

Patricia Neilly Vella and my 4th great aunt, Permelia Dingman Baker. Her brother Henry, Margaret's and William's brother, was my 3rd grgrandfather.
