GHOST TOWN OF MINA, PA
DuBois Schutt and Christopher E. Lewis purchased land from A.G. and Marlin E. Olmsted at this place in 1883 and built a saw mill. In 1889 they deeded the property to the Lackawanna Lumber Co., of Scranton, PA, who built a large saw mill. This burned in June, 1894.

Presented to the Potter County Historical Society by the Rev. Howard I. Lehman and wife, Ada, retired missionaries of M.E. Church, Caixa, Postal 4948, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, South America.
Rev. Lehman, son of Lewis Lehman, was born on a farm about one mile from Mina. The family lived there a number of years and he attended school and church at Mina.

Gary said all the historic buildings are gone. (Church, school, railroad depot) There are a couple places where you can see remnants of the old foundations but no buildings remain.

I remember a few buildings still standing in Mina in the 60s. Does anyone know what still stands and if the church and school possibly too. Diana Buchsen can you ask Gary.
