Neefe, Walter N.
Galeton, PA - Walter N Neefe, 80, of Galeton, PA, passed away Thurs day, November 4, 2010, at Soldiers & Sailors Hospital, Wellsboro.
Bom March 2, 1930 in Sweden Valley, PA, he was a son of the late Thomas and Lavana (McCloskey) Neefe. Walt was a 1947 Graduate of Coudersport High School.
On October 24, 1953, in Galeton, he married the former Maxine Goodwin, who survives.
Walt worked on his father's farm in Sweden Hill, was a truck driver for many years and retired from Johnson Truck Line in Tioga, PA in 1992. He was a member of Galeton Moose. Walt loved playing cards, fishing, hunting and camping.
Surviving besides his wife of 57 years, Maxine Neefe, are
- a son, Walter Bruce Neefe, Bilerica, MA;
two daughters, Lucinda (Phil) Petty, Waverly, NY, and Kim-berly (Kenneth) Schaar, Germania, PA;
eight grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren;
a sister, Christine (Harold) Baumann, Coudersport, PA;
and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents,
Walt was predeceased by two brothers,
Phillip and Hollis.
Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton on Saturday, November 6, 2010, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. A Private uraveside Sen ice will be held at the family's convenience Memorial contributions may be made to the Galeton Fireworks Com mittee or to the Gale I lose Ambulance Association. is
