In 1930 she and her parents and two siblings lived in a house they owned in Armagh, PA. Their home was valued at $3000, and they did have a radio. Her father worked as a miner, loading coal.

In 1940 she and her parents and three siblings lived in probably the same house, which was on William Penn Highway. Their home was valued at just $2000 after the Great Depression. Her father worked as a coal loader in a coal mine, with an income in 1939 of $350 for 15 weeks of work.

CLAWSON - MaryLou "Baba" Clawson (McCachren), age 77, of Fairless Hills, Pa., died on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol, Pa.

Born and raised in Armagh, Pa., Mrs. Clawson was a resident of Falls Township for over 50 years. She was a member of Fairless Hills United Methodist Church. MaryLou was a volunteer at Lower Bucks Hospital. Her beloved granddaughter, Gwendolyn, brought much joy and happiness into her life.

Mrs. Clawson was the daughter of the late George and Mary Lowther McCachren. She was the wife of the late Raymond M. Clawson.

She was the loving mother of Douglas R. Clawson, and his wife, Karen, of Fairless Hills, and the dear grandmother of her adored Gwendolyn. She is also survived by her brother, Loris McCachren of Armagh; two sisters, Georgine Tomb of New Florence, Pa., and Lois Lytle of DePew, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Ernest Lowther.

Family and friends are invited to attend her graveside service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at Armagh Cemetery. Interment under the direction of the Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, 392 E. Philadelphia St., Armagh, Pa. 15920. Memorial contributions are appreciated to Fairless Hills United Methodist Church, 840 Trenton Road, Fairless Hills, Pa. 19030.
