Taggart Reunion
Last Wednesday, Aug. 17th, by special invitation, the children, grandchildren and great-grand children of the Taggart fathers and mothers, "who are waiting on the other shore," spent the day together at the residence of I. L. Craven, of this borough. At 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon about forty guests assisted in relieving the groaning tables of their ponderous loads of the good things of the land. About this time, dear editor, we sympa thized must deeply with yon and oar friends, who were not Taggarts. Fears were entertained as to Hon' Tj. Taggart and G. W. Warner being able to arise from the table, but they, with all the rest, finally succeeded. After dinner the company gathered themselves together upon Mr. Craven's beautiful lawn and were photographed by on of our number, F. L. Williams, of Coudersport. Singing and swinging, feasting and generai rejoicing, were inter sperced with affectionate, social interconise. The many noble traits of character of our fathers and mothers were dwelt upon their few faults forgotten. Our grand father and grand mother Taggart were lovingly remembered by many who were present. May this happy reunion be followed by many more and at last may there be one still more joyful, aye, even glorious, "Beyond the River."
