Former Local Resident Dies At Yatesboro

Christina Viola Dickey, one of the best known and most highly respected ladies of Yatesboro, Pa., died at her home there Thursday, January 24th, 1929, after an illness of several months duration.

Funeral services were held Saturday January 26th, in Yatesboro Presbyterian church, and were conducted by Rev. H.M. Foster, of that city, and Rev. McInturf, of Ford City, Pa. Interment was made in Moore cemetery, near Reynoldsville.

Mrs. Dickey was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Doney, of Reynoldsville, and was born in this town December 18th, 1873. Her girlhood was spent in this section.

In 1902 she was united in marriage to James E. Dickey, a prominent man of Yatesboro, Pa. She was well known in this community, being a member of the Kittanning Branch of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Yatesboro Presbyterian church and was an active member in all branches of church work. The beautiful floral offerings and the impressive funeral services gave ample testimony of the esteem in which she was held by those who knew her. She was ever known as a warm-hearted person, generous and ready to lend a helping hand to all.

Mrs. Dickey was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mrs. Lauretta Horm. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and the following brothers: J.C. Doney, of Rossiter, Pa.; W.H. Doney, of Shamokin, Pa., and S.F. Doney, of Lovell, Wyoming.
