My 4th great grandfather, Alanson Burt, was a 4th cousin of John Keating Burt. All the Burts descended from David Burt Sr., born 18 October 1629 Harberton, South Hams District, Devon, England and emigrated to Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. Many of David's descendants would migrate further west, first into New York State then further into Pennsylvania, settling Potter county. What a rich history

From a different angle, same group, says Picture taken May 6, 1895(?) shared by Lanny last Fall. Date could have been 1885, it's cut off, but 1895 seems more consistent with the little one up front, as well as John, himself, who died in 1898.
