Port Allegany Music Center was where Dr. Fritz Guenter came to buy a new sound system. When I went to his Smethport home to see where the system would be installed, I found that he had a wonderful existing cabinet radio-phono. Great speakers! Needed a dew pre-amp and amp to provide for binaural sound (as we called stereo initially), needed an AM-FM tuner and some tweeters. But its mid-range and bass speakers were excellent and the phono was a Zenith with a changer and a Cobramatic arm. I upgraded the cartridge. At the time I could get components and design sound systems generally better than any "package jobs." Solid state was in its infancy. Guenters were in the music store about every Saturday, buying records. Dr. Guenter was a key staff member of Port Allegany Community Hospital.

Lanny Nunn, do you happen to know the year this was taken and where? I can only guess near the turn of the century in Coudersport given the age of my great grandfather, Ed Guenter (1879-1949). Thanks!

Grace Titus Yes, my line also goes back to Elder John of Westerly, RI. I think most Crandell/Crandall's do.

Dustin Crandell, just a guess, but Rose looks to be 15-16 in this picture, and she was born in Oct 1881. So I'm thinking the picture date was 1896-1898.
