Hilda May Hanchett
Former Hebron Center Resident Dies Unexpectedly
Mrs. Hilda May Hanchett, 37, of Port Allegany RD 2, died in Port Allegany Hospital at 12:15 .a.m. Monday after a short illness. She is a daughter-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hanchett of Hebron Center.
Born in Nottingham, England, June 12, 1927, she was a daughter of Harry and Elizabeth Bent. She Married Clarence R. Hanchett in England June 12, 1943, and (came) to this country in 1948. She formerly lived at Hebron Center and had lived at Port Allegany for nine years. She was a member of the Church of England.
Besides her husband, here, and her parents in England, Mrs. Hanchett is survived by five sons,
- Kenneth John Hanchett, in the Navy;
- David James,
- Geoffrey Lynn,
- Perry Allen and
- Brian Keith, all at home;
- a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Wells, and
- a brother, Kenneth Bent; both in England.
Friends will be received at the Walter Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. Rex Zwiebel of the Seventh Day Baptist Church, Alfred Station, N.Y.
- Burial will be in the Lewis Hill Cemetery, Port Allegany.
