Several Persons Have Serious Charges Filed Against Tliem For the March term of court the following Quarter Sessions cases are on the docket to be disposed of: Commonwealth against Eldon . Logie, of Austin. . Charged with assault and battery by Patrick Sederon also charged with disorderly conduct and jail breaking. Commonwealth against Laura Yentzer, formerly of Austin, now of Dunkirk, N. Y. Charged with being a public nuisance. Commonwealth against j Jennie Haoket, formerly of Austin, now of Dunkirk, N. Y. Charged with being a .public nuisance. Commonwealth against Samuel Ensall, cf Shinglehouse. Charged with desertion of wife and children. Commonwealth against Edward Austin, of Austin. Charged with as sault and battery upon Oliver H. Dif-fenbach, a state constable. Commonwealth against John Kieb, of Genesee. Charged with selling cigarettes to miners. Commonwealth against Ray English, of Galeton. Charged with attempted criminal assault upon Cathe-line McCallson, a woman child under fifteen years old. Commonwealth against Eugene Pe--queen, of Coudersport. Charged with larceny by William Gressler. Commonwealth against Ben Persing and Arthur Lattin, of Galeton. Charged with malicicus mischief and burglary. Commonwealth against Mrs. Lura DeWeese, of Coudersport. Charged by her husband with 'infidelity. Commonwealth against Leon Mc-Fall, of EUisburg. Charged with illegal parentage by Hattie James, a girl less than sixteen years old. Commonwealth against Sarah Miller, of Shinglehouse. Charged by her stepmother, Mrs. Jennie Miller, with toeing wayward and incorrigable. Commonwealth against James Jen- nett, of Binghamton, N. Y. Charged : "with throwing an iron nut or burr in ' one of the big paper machines at Austin. - Commonwealth against Eddie Haus of Portage. Charged with desertion j "of his wife and children. Commonwealth against Elmer .Green, of Shinglehouse. Charged with receiving stolen property. Commonwealth against Laura Jreen, aged 17, and- Naomi Green, aged 12, charged with larceny by Mrs. E. A. Pearsall. JACOB KOHL RESIGNS Is No Longer Court Crier. IV. S. Or-cutt Transferred to That Place. New Tipstave. Because of hia constant duties at the tannery Jacob Kohl, one of the most conscientious and honorable men of earth, has resigned his position as court crier which he has held since the resignation of Frank How-land to become clerk of the Board of Commissioners. He has been a faithful official and will be missed at the court sessions. W. S. Orcutt, who has been acting as tipstave has been promoted to court crier and will be seen in his new position at the March term of court next week. - This morning Judge Heck appointed Elijah Koonse formerly of Hebron, row of Coudersport, as tipstave. He is an old soldier and had similar experience some years ago in Fulton county, New York. OYER FROM ELMER Hon. F. D. Councilman of Elmer, 5s in town today on business pertaining to the estate of his son, the late Alfred D. Councilman, of which he "has been made administrator. Mr. Councilman is bravely ibearing the great bereavement that has come to "him just as he has borne the other sorrows that have come to him. His health is delicate but considerably improved within the past two years.
