Miles Rice Dies In California

Native of Coryrille Succumbed Feb. 14

Friends of Miles T. Rice, former resident of this place, will be saddened to learn of his death which occurred at the Sanatorium in San Dimas, California, Sunday, February 14, 1943, after a long illness from complications and infirmities incident to his advanced age.
Mr. Rice was born at Coryvllle, PA, April 15, 1856 on the old Rice homestead. His parents being William Rice and wife, Betsy, (Reed) Rice. To them ten children were born, all of the others having preceded Miles in death.
He was an honest and industrious citizen and spent nearly his entire lifetime in this section until going to California about twelve years ago to reside.
He was married to Miss Lottie Weimer, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Weimer, early pioeers of Sartwell Creek. She passed away more than a score of years ago.
Surviving are several local nephews and nieces and a number near his California home including Mrs. Frank Brougham, the former Miss Martha Grigsby, who cared for him during his declining years.
