obituary, Edgar D. Whaley, 08 December 1932

E.D. WHALEY, DEAD
Edgar Demetris Whaley, a resident of Roulette Township for the past thirty-five years passed out of this life Tuesday night at his farm home on Fishing Creek.
Mr. Whaley was born in Erie County, NY, September 22nd, 1855. He was united in marriage to Viola Margaret Weimer February 12, 1882, and to this union was born three children,
- Mina O., now Mrs. A.J. Marschner,
-Paul E., both of Roulette, and
-Perry Lavern, deceased. Besides these, he leaves one brother
- William Whaley of Corydon, Pa, and a granddaughter,
- Margaret Marschner of Roulette, together with many nieces and nephews and other friends and relatives.
Mr. Whaley owned and operaated a number of saw mills in McKean and Potter counties. He was also at one time interested in several small natural gas developments in both counties. His genial disposition, loyal friendship, generosity and kindly humor won for him many friends.
Funeral services were held at Roulette Friday under the auspices of the I.O.O.F. to which order he belonged for more than firty(sic) years. Rev. White officiated. Interment was made in Roulette Hill Cemetry(sic).
