Marriage, Linda Diane Wetzel / Edward Lukaszewski -
JUNE 20, 1973
Folk Mass in St. Eulalia
Mrs. Edward Lukaszewski
A Folk Mass, accompanied by eleven guitarists from Warren, was celebrated in St. Eulalia's Catholic Church, Coudersport, at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (June 16, 1973) when Miss Linda Diane Wetzel became the bride of Edward John Lukaszewski.
The Rev. Mitchell Wanant, Erie, officiated at the double-ring ceremony which united the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin P. Wetzel, Coudersport, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Lukaszewski, Erie.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown of chiffon featuring a high rise waist on a bolero bodice trimmed with Viennese lace and ribbon. Identical lace also edged the high neckline and full flowing long cuffed sleeves and the full multiple skirts extended to a chapel train. Her Camelot headpiece of Alencon lace held veiling which flowed to a cathedral length train. She carried a cascade arrangement of white roses and baby's breath.
Miss Rosalee Saggio, Erie, maid of honor, was attired in a floor-length gown of multiple print on a blue background designed with a detachable cape. It featured a ruffled, high neckline, pinched gathered bodice with natural waist, and slightly bouffant skirt with a ruffled hemline.
Bridesmaids were Miss Kathryn Klutz and Mrs. William Dougherty, both of Erie, and Mrs. Carl Stroup, Warren. Their gowns were fashioned identically to that of the maid of honor, but of blue dotted Swiss. Each attendant carried a fireside basket of white baby roses, blue daisies and baby's breath. Their headpieces were of daisies and baby's breath.
For her daughter's wedding, the bride's mother selected a pink dress trimmed with lavendar and green embroidery accented with a lavendar orchid corsage. The bridegroom's mother chose a pink dress which was enhanced by a white orchid corsage.
Dennis Lukaszewski, brother of the bridegroom, Erie, served as best man. Ushers were Don Wisinski, Bill Dougherty, and Jerry Palotas, all of Erie. Scott Wetzel, brother of the bride, carried the wedding rings on a white Bible.
One hundred sixty-five guests attended the buffet-style reception which was held in St. Eulalia Parish Center. Miss Penny Olson, Olean, N.Y. and Miss Christy Jordan, Bolivar, N.Y., cousins of the bride, served the punch. Cutting the wedding cake were Mrs. John Wetzel, Syracuse, N.Y. and Mrs. Emmanuel Nicosia, Alden, N.Y.
The bride was graduated from Coudersport Area High School in 1968 and from the Erie Business Center. She is employed as a secretary at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Erie.
Her husband attended St. John Kanty Preparatory School and Gannon College. He is employed by Kraus Electric Company.
Following a wedding trip to Orlando, Miami, and Daytona Beach, Fla. the couple will make their home at 3651 Schaper Ave., Erie.
