Will Be Held Friday
Lease Worker Dies of Skull Fracture; Was Hit by Falling Limb
Funeral services for Edwin Crattie, 41, of Rew, who died yesterday aflernoon at Bradford hospital at 2:40 o'clock of a skull fracture, will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the home in Rew. Burial will be in the family lot in St. Bernard's cemetery.
Mr. Crattie received the skull inJury yesterday morning shortly after 10 o'clock when a falling tree limb struck him on the head. He was employed on the D. W. Daly lease, near Rew, and with Joseph Healey, lease foreman, was engaged in felling the tree when the dead limb crashed down upon him as they chopped through the tree.
A Storms ambulance removed Mr Crattie to the Bradford hospital where he was admitted at 10:43 o'clock. He was unconscious at that time.
Mr. Crattie was born April 12, 1900 in Rew and had spent his entire life in this vicinity. He had been employed by the D. W. Daly interests for the past 20 years. He was well-known throughout this district and had many friends.
Surviving him are his wife, two children, Patricia and Donald Crattie at home, his mother, Mrs. Jennie Crattie of Rew; four brothers, Lyle Crattie of Coffeyville. Kans. and Harold, Charles and Willis Crattie of Rew; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Anderson of Friendship and Miss Jennie Crattie of Rew.
The body was taken to the McAllister funeral home and was removed to the residence in Rew this morning..
