Vera was my 2nd cousin 2x removed. I have Bumps early in my Tree, always found the name interesting, but rare. Edward BUMPAS, various spellings, was my 9th grgrandfather, b.1600 in London, died in Marshfield, Plymouth, MA. Interesting that this article starts in Marshlands, between Galeton and Ansonia. Not significant, but... Thank you so much for the article! Incidents, however newsworthy, put personality, character, circumstances etc. into the people who are otherwise mainly data.

she was a little nuts....married 4x! None lasted more than a year or so....check out the causes for divorce in this latest doc. This, after leaving Andrew Bump after 7 years. BTW - there are no records of kids from the Snyder-Bump marriage....you have relatives with this name??

John C Wetzel Alice, uh Mrs. Bump, was my 1st cousin 3x removed. In the marriage certificate, she signed Alice M. Snyder. I wonder what the 'M' was. Her given name in your Tree is Alice Burt Lewis Snyder, before she started adding husbands. I couldn't find a source for that name, do you know more about it?

I too have been searching for the "M" and I don't find it. The BURT LEWIS in her name is how my mother always referred to her... I guess it was her way of organizing the family line, Alice being a "Burt-Lewis" descendant. No birth certificate to find, however....
