Embert L. Carpenter, "Carpy," 83, of Westfield, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at the Green Home, in Wellsboro.
He was born Jan. 31, 1930, in Coudersport, Pa., the son of the late Ernest L. and Mittie Weimer Carpenter.
He was married Nov. 13, 1948, in Roulette to Eleanor, his wife of 64 years, who survives.
He was a graduate of Roulette High School and Westbrook Academy, in Olean, N.Y. He was employed by the Sinclair Oil Refining Co., in Wellsville, N.Y., for 10 years; Tennessee Gas Transmission Co., in Kane, Pa., for three years; and he retired after 31 years of service with Consolidated Natural Gas Supply Corp., in Sabinsville.
He was a member of Clymer Baptist Church, in Sabinsville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons James D. (Charis) Carpenter, of Loyalsock Township; and Richard K. Carpenter, of Westfield; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
