Dawn M Newton Tom, I think his father and Merle were brothers although I wouldn't bet my life on it. The one you're remembering worked at Pure Carbon, right?

Dawn M Newton After Merle died, Grace married Harvey(?) Slingerland. They were in a wreck on the curve just as you get to Seven Bridges coming from Coudersport, and Grace was killed.

Mary Dunkleberger Dawn, oh my word - I never knew that!! How sad - she was the sweetest lady -- Tom & I dated our first year out of high school until we both went into the Air Force in Jan. '66. We were active in county grange youth & were in a square dance club with Tom's brother's family Larry & Myrt & Jane.

Dawn M Newton Merle had a sister Orva Knight Hyde. She and Grace always made the cabbage salad for the big Grange dinners. I can still see them grating cabbage in a big washtub.
