Jo Nell Runyon, 74, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville. She was born May 28, 1939, in Sunbright, Tenn., to the late Joseph and Olie Galloway Davis. She had worked as a CNA at Owensboro Mercy Health. She attended Hall Street Baptist Church and enjoyed watching TV, writing and visiting with friends.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gobel Runyon (1987); a son, Glenn Runyon; and a stepdaughter, Linda Gail Runyon.
She is survived by a son, Steve Runyon; two step- grandchildren, Carrie Lynn Dean and David James; and a sister, Edith Walker Chatt of Tennessee.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Runyon Home with the Rev. Tim Hall and burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society, 1302 Frederica St., Owensboro, KY 42301. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
