Psoas Abscess is an infection of the psoas muscle12. It can be classified into primary psoas abscess (caused by hematogenous or lymphatic spread of a pathogen) and secondary psoas abscess (resulting from contiguous spread from an adjacent infectious focus)2. Diagnosis generally requires MRI studies to evaluate for a psoas abscess1. Treatment is percutaneous image-guided drainage and antibiotics in most cases1.
