• Napoleon Pelchy
Aged Man Had Resided Here For Sixty-Three Years.
Brief mention was made of the death of Napoleon Pelchy at Maple View Rest Home last week's issue. He passed away that morning (Sept. 19, 1962).
Mr. Pelchy was born at Milton, Vt., Sept. 12, 1872,, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pelchy. He came to Coudersport in 1899, and for a time was employed in the big sawmill in the now vanished lumber town of Mina. He married Fannie Campbell at Shongo, N. Y., April 26, 1896. Most of his long life was spent in farming. Mrs. Pelchy died April 24, 1953.
There are five children surviving:
Mrs. Helen Matteson, R. D., Genesee;
Victor Pelchy, Lompoc, Calif.;
Mrs. Ethel Haynes,
Mrs. Bertha Predmore and
LeRoy Pelchy, Coudersport.
There are 26 grandchildren, 68 great- grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was from the Grabe Funeral Home in Coudersport at 2:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Kenneth E. Lewis officiated.
Interment was in Lyman Cemetery at Roulette..
